Uganda Musicians Federation (UMF) President and Chairman Singer Eddy Kenzo has finally scheduled a special meeting with head of State President Y.K Museveni to talk and Streamline laws PARTAINING entertainment industry.
President UMF Meets President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to look into Copyright laws and Patents.
Upon meeting the President yesterday 27th, November 2023, the singer rashed to his social handles to let the public know.
He posted “In the quest for streamlining our industry and lobbing for a well functioning Music industry, today i met my Mzee H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and we discussed the urgent need for the amendment of the Copyright & Neighboring Rights Act 2006. It was a great discussion in which he promised to follow into the matter with the urgency it requires.
President UMF Meets President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to look into Copyright laws and Patents. He also accepted my request for a meeting to introduce to him the Uganda National Musicians Federation Leadership and how far we have gone as a federation in building national structures for a more inclusive and vibrant Music industry.
The President has promised to look into it and seeing how argent such laws can be enacted shortly.
Eddy Kenzo has also said that he intend to prepare documents to be able to present them to H.E to show him how far the Federation has gone.
The Singer also intends to put up together his team at the Music Federation to take it to the President also to show him how organised so far they have gone.
In comments however, a number of followers appreciated Kenzo for his effort towards such Industry moves.
Whereas, some followers especially those from Opposition party NUP were criticising Eddy Kenzo’s move to meet Ssabalwanyi Y.K Museveni.
