Kendrick Lamar to Perform in Kigali Rwanda. The celebrated American hip hop legend Kendrick Lamar Duckworth, popularly known as Kendrick Lamar, is expected in Kigali in December, according to sources at TKG Music.
The multiple Grammy winner is said to be among performers of a mega event scheduled to take place early December in Kigali, Rwanda, at BK Arena, before headlining “Hey Neighbour Festival” at the Legends Adventure Farm in Pretoria, South Africa.
Kendrick Lamar Duckworth was born June 17, 1987 and is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Known as “King Kendrick“, he is widely regarded as one of the most influential rappers of this generation. His works, which regularly infuse social, political, religious, and philosophical influences, became a catalyst in the rise of social consciousness amongst Millennials. Lamar has been named the second-greatest rapper of all time by Billboard and Vibe, and has garnered critical acclaim for his signature cadences, artistic reinventions, and introspective songwriting.
Kendrick Lamar to Perform in Kigali Rwanda. Lamar developed an interest in music and songwriting from a young age. He began releasing music as a teenager under the stage name K.Dot and signed with Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2005. After retiring his stage name, he gained mainstream attention through the release of his final mixtape, Overly Dedicated (2010).
Speaking to TKG, a reliable source in Rwanda’s capital Kigali said that the US rapper is already in talks with organizers of the event, and that there are high hopes that he would take the deal to perform in the capital of Rwanda.
He will be the second hip hop legend to come to Rwanda, following J Cole who played for Patriots at the Basketball Africa League (BAL) inaugural season that took place in Rwanda in 2021.
