I was silent for a bit, a big question too soon? In my head I wanted to tell him that Know why I do what I do , and that it’s a purpose I had almost forgotten during the pandemic while I was in Europe
I knew I wanted to tell him that, during the pandemic, in the midst of the darkest of my storms, I was giving up, and slowly dying, losing faith, disappearing into nothingness, and like a light at the end of the tunnel, my country and its people became the purpose I needed to remember who I was.
I knew my country and it’s people needed me as much as I needed them, they awakened my dying spirit.
As I thought of these things to share, I quickly realized, it’s too heavy to share this with him, I’ve literally just met this man, I should share my strength and not my vulnerabilities, right? Wrong! My vulnerabilities would have overshadowed the moment and make my answer rather awkward to this intrusively yet warm stranger.
